Frequently Asked Questions

  • Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-off) energy healing practice that supports relaxation, stress reduction, and balance. Many people experience Reiki as calming and grounding, with benefits that include improved emotional regulation and a greater sense of clarity and ease.

  • Yes. My work is trauma-informed and somatically grounded. I’ve completed training in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy through The Embody Lab, and I approach each session with an emphasis on consent, nervous system safety, and choice. We move at your pace, and you’re always in control of your experience.

  • No. You are never required to share details about your trauma, emotions, or life experiences. Reiki can be supportive even without verbal processing, and we can keep sessions quiet, guided, or conversational—depending on what feels safest and most supportive for you.

  • Sessions begin with a brief check-in and intention-setting. You’ll remain fully clothed and can lie down or sit comfortably. Reiki is offered through gentle touch or hovering hands, based on your preference. Some sessions may include grounding, breath awareness, or somatic resourcing if helpful.

  • Experiences vary. Some people notice warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, emotional release, or a sense of calm. Others simply feel more rested or centered afterward. There is no “right” way to experience Reiki.

  • Reiki is generally experienced as gentle and supportive. Because my work is trauma-informed, sessions are structured to avoid overwhelm and prioritize nervous system regulation. You’re always encouraged to communicate your needs, boundaries, or sensations during the session.

  • Yes. Many clients experience online Reiki as equally effective. Distance Reiki sessions follow the same trauma-informed structure and are a good option for those outside the Greater Boston area or who prefer to receive care from home.

  • Wear comfortable clothing. You don’t need to bring anything specific, though you’re welcome to bring items that help you feel grounded or safe. For in-person sessions, everything else will be provided.

  • Reiki Dance is a trauma-informed, consent-based movement experience combining Reiki principles, somatic awareness, and live music. Participants are invited to move freely, pause, dance solo, or connect with others—always with choice and respect for personal boundaries.

  • Reiki Shares are for individuals with prior Reiki or energy-work experience. Each participant receives a minimum of 20 minutes of Reiki from the group, with session length adjusted based on group size.
